Morito Daimyojin Shinto Shrine

October 15, 2015

Yesterday after eating brunch at Prime Brunch, our sweet friend Stephanie showed us the Morito Daimyojin Shinto Shrine in Hayama, Japan.  It’s a beautiful shrine located on Morito beach, with lots of parking, a view over to the touristy part of Morito beach, and a stunning view out into Sagami Bay. I haven’t been feeling well the last few days. My husband comes to our room last night and tells me he bought me two different types of cheesecakes as I asked him to via text message. I was a little confused thinking perhaps I’d had too much cold medicine, but told him, “I’m certain I didn’t ask you for cheesecake.” Today after G came home from school, he asked, “What’s that amazing smell mom?” I told him, “I made you a nice chicken and potatoes lunch.” G says, “No. It smells like cake.” Me: “Ummm. There’s a vanilla candle lit in our house. But there’s cheesecake in the fridge.” 😉 G says excitedly: “I know mom. There’s two types of cheesecake in the fridge!!!” Me: “That’s magic! You look like you’ve been dreaming of cheesecake all morning at school.” 😂 G after lunch enjoying a slice of two different types of cheesecake. #growingkids
Happy birthday, Zum Geburtstag to Sue! Happy to keep our duel family celebrating Sue’s birthday and ski weekend trip tradition alive in Bavaria. Happy birthday sweet friend!
Happy 11th birthday to our sweet, precocious, and kind son G. He had a wonderful day, and a fun birthday party with his friends/ classmates today. I’m so grateful I am your mother! ❤️🎉🎂
Studying for a math test. I took the first half of tutoring, my husband took the second half. Julie we reminded him of your words: “Later you’ll be happy you put the work and time in.” Ignore the huge pile of clean laundry that our dog fell asleep on/in. 😂 #parenting
Saying goodbye to Amelia, Jen, and TJ last week. We couldn’t ask for better friends straight from the beginning of this tour from the hotel on. We’re going to miss this sweet family. My oldest son cried after saying goodbye to Amelia, and G was tearful after TJ and Jen left the last time. We’re grateful to have you as friends, role models to our kids, as a babysitter, and as our military family. We hope you settle into your new duty location smoothly, and you are appreciated as well as you have been in Stuttgart. ❤️
She lost her first top tooth yesterday. Look at her spaced toothy grin. 🧚‍♀️
What’s happening in this picture? 🙈 C’s drawing homework on the back of a phonics packet.
If there is a puddle or a stream in the vicinity, these two will find it. 🐟 ❤️
An effort to solve this morning’s breakfast argument. We’re prepared for tomorrow at 6:30 A.M. 😂😜#siblings #parenting #sharpiesandpost-its
