Tanabata: July 7th

Tanabata is celebrated on July 7th here in Japan.

I took my children, and my oldest son’s friend, to a kids Japanese cooking class. Classes were lead by a talented Japanese mom, Saori, who runs her own business Saori’s Kitchen.

Here are a few pictures of my kids helping cook, learn, and enjoy a yummy cold noodle dish in a design representing the bridge during Tatabana that connects the Japanese deities Orihime and Hikoboshi on July 7th.

Two out of three kids loved this delicious noodle dish (we call this successful)! Saori even sent me home with extra, that we enjoyed tonight for dinner. Arigato Gozaimasu, Saori!

P.S. You can watch this video YouTube about Tanabata. For our budding astrologists the Summer Triangle , and video of the Summer Triangle.
