A One-Year-Old Birthday Party

I can’t believe that C has already turned one year! We had fun celebrating her special day together as a family of five. We loved celebrating her first year with extended family and local friends by having a birthday party at our home. I was enthusiastic about her turning one, yet a bit in disbelief that this year with our new sweet child has flown by so quickly. Last week, I spotted a one-year-old molar that has already erupted. Yes, little one you really are already ONE! Here’s some quick photo documentation of the party, the peasant shirt dress and Hungry Caterpillar quilt I made for her first birthday. Surprisingly, I finished the quilt with a few days to spare.

The cake my talented sister D made for Miss C. What a thoughtful Auntie! See the caterpillar cupcakes in the collage below that my sister also made for the party.

I used these two blogs, Sew Like My Mom and Indietudes to help me make this peasant shirt /dress. Eric Carle Dots fabric bought at the Fat Quarter Shop.

Hungry Caterpillar Fat Quarter set used for fabric strips and binding by Andouver Fabric, Bright Kona Pink for border and margins between fabric strips.
